Mung Kenhy Tours is a tour company based in Mount Hagen in the heart of the Highlands region of Papua New Guinea. The company has been registered with PNG Investment Promotion Authority in 2018 and PNG Tourism Promotion Authority in 2019. It is 100 % nationaly owned and offers pre-packaged and customized tours in the Highlands and Coastal places of Papua New Guinea.
The company name Mung Kenhy was derived from the Melpa words (Local Western Highlands language). Mung means "eyes" and Kenhy means "see". The concept of "eyes and "see" came about when the Tour operator, Mrs. Sheila Kuli realized that all tourists that travel the globe take with them their "eyes" to "see" and take back those memories in their cameras. That's where she took out the name "Mung - eyes" and "Kenhy - see" to form the company name " Mung Kenhy Tours".
We offer Tours in Adventure, Bird watching and Festivals (Famous Mt. Hagen and Goroka Cultural Shows). We also organize tours for FIT (Fully Independent Traveller), Business clients, Family, Leisure, Adventure travellers.
We own and operate a guest house, or more like a lodge (Tarangau Guest House) which offer accommodation for backpackers. It’s clean and nice for the international tourist who requires cheaper accommodation. We do not provide meals so we can arrange with other hotels nearby.
We have local guides who know PNG better, exploring diversities of cultures who can be with you upon arrival till the day of departure (leaving country).
We make programs to meet client’s request.
